Placed in service in 2001, this is the fourth LIHTC development by JAS. Squirrel Brand was a former candy factory know for its Squirrel Nut Zippers. A 100% affordable complex, this adaptive reuse project won awards for Historic Preservation from the National Trust. Community involvement was instrumental in the success of this endeavor which included the creation of a public park and the preservation of community gardens. There are 20 units total including 18 units in the former factory and 2 units in a duplex across the street and 20 surface parking spaces.
