Maloney Properties, Inc. is the recipient of the first City Of Boston Fair Housing Landlord Award

On April 27, 2015 approximately sixty people gathered in Boston Mayor Marty Walsh’s office to celebrate the 2nd Annual Fair Housing Art Contest and the first ever City of Boston Fair Housing Landlord Award. Maloney Properties, Inc. was the recipient of the first City of Boston Fair Housing Landlord Award for the category of Large Landlord (100+ housing units).

“…The reason we recognize Maloney Properties, Inc. is because Maloney Properties, Inc. approaches housing in a holistic way and that spoke to us on the commission…we were looking for properties owners that take outside the box approaches to rental housing and Maloney Properties, Inc. fit the bill…” stated Egobudike E. Ezedi, Jr, the Boston Fair Housing Commissioner.

Since opening in 1981 Maloney Properties, Inc. has striven to be a property management firm with a human focus.  “We are immensely privileged to be recognized by the Office of Fair Housing and Equity with the Fair Housing Landlord Award.  Maloney Properties, Inc. was founded on principles of respect for all people and we strive to incorporate that in all aspects of our company” Janet Frazier, President and CEO said.

Mayor Walsh believes Boston will thrive when housing is affordable and accessible and neighborhoods are strong. The purpose of this award is to recognize landlords/housing providers who not only provide safe, healthy housing, but who also provide housing that is affordable and accessible to all; and who provide services that improve the ability of residents and the community at large to achieve economic, social and educational success.[1]
