Maloney Takes a Stand Against Racism

In April 2018, at all of our properties throughout New England, Maloney Properties employees and residents gathered together to celebrate our diverse cultures and to make the pledge with the YWCA to Stand Against Racism!

Stand Against Racism is a signature campaign of YWCA USA to build community among those who work for racial justice and to raise awareness about the negative impact of institutional and structural racism in our communities. MPI is proud to stand with YWCA and make this pledge! Learn more at http://StandAgainstRacism.org

Property Highlight

Doug Hemmings—Community and Social Services Coordinator for Highgate Apartments—teamed up with the Children’s Literacy Foundation in Vermont to acquire 45 books with diverse characters and stories from different cultures and backgrounds. The Children’s Literacy Foundation was also able to recommend a storyteller—Randee Eddins, artist, award-winning writer, poet and remarkable person—for the attendees, who specializes in stories about race and culture.

“[O]ur kids, like most kids, absolutely treasure new books. Reading books with diverse characters and stories supports thinking about these concepts long after the event is finished.”
